The Story of Piekenierskloof
In 1923, Johan Abraham Van Zyl settled on the rugged ridge of Piekenierskloof. He and his family were tasked with cultivating grapes and developing notable wines.
The Citrusdal Winery was founded in 1957, and the first vineyards were planted in Bergendal.
Bergendal and Heidedal are pivotal locations where the Van Zyl brothers cultivate exceptional vine varieties.
