Wineries of the Cederberg Region

Two of the region's most renowned names are also part of our range: Cederberg Private Cellar, run by the Nieuwoudt family for five generations, is considered South Africa's highest-altitude winery and stands for wines of exceptional purity and mineral freshness. The farm was originally called "Dwarsrivier" and was used from 1895 onwards for growing fruit, vegetables and tobacco; it wasn't until 1973 that the family planted its first vines, followed by their first own vintage in 1977. In 1997, the winery finally took on its present name. Not far away lies Driehoek Wines, a winery that likewise benefits from the remote location and cool nights of the Cederberg Mountains, producing wines with a distinctive, unmistakable character.
