Vineyard Zorgvliet Wines
Seven kilometres outside Stellenbosch, in the heart of the Cape Winelands, is the Zorgvliet Wines Winery, where owners Stephan and Izelle van der Merwe, together with winemaker Bernhard le Roux, present their highly acclaimed portfolio of award-winning wines, including Zorgvliet Cabernet Franc, Zorgvliet Merlot and Zorgvliet Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc.
Located in Stellenbosch's Banghoek region on the southern slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, the vineyards are known worldwide for their remarkable terroir and are amongst the most outstanding growing sites in South Africa. Here, under the talented hand of vintner Hannes Jansen van Vuuren, noble Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec as well as Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon thrive among the white grape varieties.
Zorgvliets wines are regularly awarded prestigious prizes and recognitions and enjoy a very special place among Stellenbosch's best red wines. Zorgvliets' success is based on a rock-solid philosophy of combining tradition with modernity and an open mind for innovative developments in the industry, without ignoring the historical roots of South African wine making.
