The Zorgvliet Merlot captivates with its alluring bouquet of dark cherry, plum, and sandalwood, accentuated by a hint of Fynbos herbs. The palate reveals a silken entry supported by a striking focus on ripe cherries, with layers of dark chocolate unfolding in the mid-palate and culminating in a crisp finish. Cultivated in fertile duplex soils enriched with dense clay, this wine often rivals its robust counterpart, Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to a remarkable depth and complexity.
Die Trauben wurden von Hand geerntet und sortiert und die Beeren in Gärbehälter aus Edelstahl sortiert. Die Trauben wurden sanft gepresst und sofort in kleine Fässer aus französischer Eiche umgefüllt, wo die malolaktische Gärung stattfand, die endgültige Zusammensetzung fand nach 20 Monaten Reifung statt. Der Wein wurde nach insgesamt 22 Monaten abgefüllt. Fasszusammensetzung: 13% neu - 225L französische Eiche; der Rest ist 2. und 3. Befüllung.
