The Thistle and Weed Khakibos White Blend 2024 is an exceptional white wine cuvée, prominently featuring Verdelho. Its aromatic profile entices with lively scents of orange and jasmine, intertwined with delicate citrus notes and hints of fresh herbs, alongside a touch of freshly baked brioche. On the palate, it is rich, complex, and expressive, with invigorating acidity that gracefully transitions into a playful spiciness – comprised of 29% Verdelho, 23% Chenin Blanc, 18% Alvarinho, 15% Palomino, and 15% Fernao Pires.
The term 'Khakibos' may suggest a weed, but it symbolizes resilience, flourishing across various soils while embracing hot climates and minimal rainfall.
The grapes for the Khakibos White were gently whole-bunch pressed and left to undergo natural fermentation in older French oak barrels. After fermentation, the wine matured for 12 months on the lees before being blended and bottled unfiltered.
