The Fairview Pinotage 2023 showcases a lively ruby red color, drawing you in with classic aromas of red cherries, berries, and plums, bolstered by a hint of oak spice. On the palate, it reveals a rich medley of dark fruit flavors, skillfully balanced with well-integrated oak and a fresh, firm tannic structure, making it a superb selection for Pinotage aficionados.
Treatment in the cellar
The grapes were picked over several days to ensure perfect maturity of each
block. Bunches were destalked and lightly crushed before fermentation in
stainless steel tanks and open top wooden foudres. After malolactic
fermentation was completed, the wine spent 16 months in 15% new French
and a small percentage of older American oak barrels, before blending and
bottling.
