The Bouchard Finlayson Hannibal Magnum 2021 presents a delightful complexity, featuring a vibrant freshness that captivates the senses. This wine is rich in fruit concentration, showcasing exquisite notes of ripe strawberries, complemented by cedar wood, smoky undertones, and essence of tobacco. It masterfully combines an elegant selection of noble grapes from both France and Italy: 41% Sangiovese; 26% Nebbiolo; 14% Shiraz; 11% Pinot Noir; 5% Barbera; 3% Mourvèdre. The palate vibrates with a remarkable depth and culminates in a long, refreshing finish.
Named ‘Hannibal’, this wine honors the ancient connection to the African elephant, which under the leadership of the famed Carthaginian general bridged the vineyards of France and Italy.
The various components of this cuvée were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks before undergoing malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine aged for a total of 12 months in French barriques. Following maturation, the wines were blended and bottled.
