Information about "Bosman Twyfeling Cinsaut 2022"
The Bosman Twyfeling Cinsaut reveals a captivating deep plum color with a violet edge, releasing an alluring bouquet of fresh berries, cassis, and cherries, intertwined with hints of fragrant tobacco, delicate spices, and savory undertones. On the palate, it is concentrated and opulent while maintaining a medium body, showcasing a wine of remarkable strength, elegant structure, and a smooth finish. The vineyard is sited on the historic Twyfeling farm, which means 'to hesitate,' reflecting its rugged terrain along the Groenberg slopes in Bovlei near Wellington. The ancient tools featured on the label were discovered in the cellar, paying tribute to those who worked the land, planted the vines, and revealed the hidden potential of this once remote and beautiful vineyard.
The hand-harvested grapes were destemmed upon arrival at the cellar, gently crushed, and allowed to undergo spontaneous fermentation. In this context, 'spontaneous' means that fermentation was initiated by the naturally occurring yeasts on the fruit and in the environment, rather than by adding commercial yeast. During the fermentation process, the cap was regularly submerged to maximize color and flavor extraction. After fermentation, the wine spent an extended period on the skins before aging for 12 months in French oak barrels (10% new wood).
