The Bosman Optenhorst Chenin Blanc 2024 displays a soft straw hue with golden highlights. This remarkable wine enchants the palate with its enticing aroma of ripe apricots, nectarines, poached pear, delicate vanilla notes, and nutty almond brittle. An understated, creamy mouthfeel culminates in a vibrant and mineral finish, perfectly rounding off this tasting experience. The thoughtful oak aging imparts a silky texture, balanced by the lively salinity derived from the portion aged in concrete eggs.
This wine is produced from the third-oldest Chenin Blanc vineyard in South Africa, with vines dating back to 1952.
Das Traubengut für diesen hochdotierten Chenin wurden am ganzen Bund gepresst und der dabei gewonnene Saft über Nacht ruhen gelassen. Der klare Saft wurde am nächsten Morgen abgeschöpft und in französische Louis Latour – Eichenfässer mit einer Füllmenge von 228 Liter pro Fass gefüllt, wo die Fermentierung ihren Lauf nahm. Nach Abschluss der alkoholischen Gärung reifte der Wein 12 Monate lang unter regelmäßigem Aufrühren der Hefe im Fass, um ein schönes Mundgefühl und intensive Komplexität im Wein zu erhalten.
