The Black Elephant Vintners Three Men In a Tub Red Blend charmingly merges old-world elegance with new-world flair, all encapsulated in an amusing label. This captivating composition includes 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 2% Mourvèdre sourced from the coastal regions of South Africa. The wine captivates with its rich aromas of dark berries while intricate hints of leather, spices, and subtle cocoa linger in the background. Its tannins are gracefully structured, resulting in a smooth and long-lasting finish that delights the palate.
The hand-picked grapes were stored overnight in a cooling chamber before being destemmed the next day and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Spontaneous fermentation begun after 3-4 days with only wild yeasts. To maximize color, flavor, and aroma extraction, the cap was submerged two to three times daily, and the must was manually mixed. After pressing, the wine went into older French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation completed, maturing for 19 months prior to blending and bottling.
