From the 17th century to the present day, Vergelegen ( German: fern gelegen) has been designed by the greatest discoverers and visionaries. In their own way, each has contributed to shaping Vergelegen into what it is today: a world-class estate.
When it comes to Vergelegen's philosophy of wine production, it is quite simple: the harmony between the old and the new must be maintained.
Since 1999 Vergelegen has received more than 200 prizes and awards for its wines. The winery's highly acclaimed winemaker Andre van Rensburg uses his first-class expertise to ensure that Vergelegen's handmade wines always achieve the highest possible level of satisfaction.
