The Vergelegen V offers a splendid fusion of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. This wine exemplifies freshness and complex fragrances of spices, dark chocolate, and cedar. Its deep ruby hue ensures an impression of refinement and grace, representing the pinnacle of the celebrated Somerset West estate's winemaking legacy. Since its first vintage in 2001, the Vergelegen V has consistently been commended for its excellence.
Die Trauben wurden von Hand gelesen und in geschlossenen Tanks bei Temperaturen von 28-30°C vergoren. Der junge Wein erhält eine Nachgärung von 28 Tagen, gefolgt von einer malolaktischen Gärung in neuer französischer Eiche. Der V wird 16 Monate lang in Fässern und anschließend 24 Monate lang in der Flasche ausgebaut, bevor er auf den Markt kommt.
