The Stellenzicht Thunderstone Chardonnay enchants with lively scents of fresh citrus, ripe apricots, and juicy mango, accented by floral notes of white blossoms. An extended period on the lees adds remarkable texture and complex nuances, while aging in older oak barrels contributes delightful hints of biscuits and a lasting finish.
The grapes were harvested in the early hours and pressed whole upon arrival at the cellar. The resulting juice was cooled and rested in stainless steel tanks for 24 hours. After racking, selected yeasts were added, and the juice was partially filled into 300l and 500l barrels. Following fermentation, the barrels were topped up with the wine fermented in steel, allowing the entire blend to mature for 12 months before bottling.
