Stellenbosch Vineyards has been one of the largest and most comprehensive wine exporters in South Africa since 2004, exporting its portfolio of award-winning wines to over 60 different countries worldwide - best known for brands such as Arniston Bay and Versus. The headquarters of Stellenbosch Vineyards is located at Welmoed Winery, one of the oldest wineries in Stellenbosch, with a history dating back to 1690.
Winemaker Abraham de Villiers joined the company in 2004 with a Hons BSc degree in Oenology from the University of Stellenbosch. Today his main task is to select the best possible grape harvests for Stellenbosch Vineyards and blend them in a talented and skillful way. Abraham is also involved in barrel selection for the Credo Wine range and the Stellenbosch Vineyards range.
With top awards, including titles such as "Best in Class" at the International Wine and Spirits Awards, Abraham proves that with know-how and talent true excellence can be achieved within a commercial brand. Abraham's successful credo proves success all along the line: "Every wine has its beginnings in the vineyard itself and winemaking begins with the correct selection of certain vineyard sections and plots.
