The Savage Never Been Asked To Dance 2024 presents an exceptional array of complex aromas, blending crushed granite, flint, and wet stone nuances, seamlessly married with notes of apple and subtle hints of dried fynbos. On the palate, this Chenin Blanc captivates with its refreshing, invigorating acidity that beautifully balances its rich texture. Exhibiting yeasty and waxy characteristics, it delights with flavors of oatmeal and yellow peach, complemented by a trace of brioche. Additional engaging notes of yellow summer fruits, pineapple pastilles, roasted almonds, and applesauce contribute to a fascinating tasting journey.
The hand-harvested grapes are sourced from over 40-year-old vines, vinified 70% whole bunch in closed stainless steel tanks. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in old French oak barrels of 500 liters each and matured for an additional ten months in larger oak barrels of 1500-2000 liters capacity.
