The Rijk's Pinotage Reserve 2021 captivates with its succulent and full-bodied structure, shining in the glass with a deep crimson hue. Aromas of red berries, cherries, and plums unfold on the nose, accompanied by subtle spicy notes and a harmonious oak character that perfectly complements the fruit. This exquisite aromatic depth is mirrored on the palate, where it delivers a creamy texture and richness. Silky, well-integrated tannins ensure impressive balance and outstanding aging potential.
The grapes underwent a cold soak for 48 hours to extract color and fruit. Malolactic fermentation occurred in oak barrels, followed by a 22-month maturation in French oak (60% new, 40% second-fill). Only the finest 20 barrels were selected to create the final blend.
