The Grangehurst Pinotage reveals a deep ruby color, enchanting with a captivating bouquet of red berries, succulent plums, fragrant vanilla, and subtle spices. On the palate, it showcases a full-bodied, smooth texture enhanced by juicy raspberry nuances and robust tannins. This Pinotage is a remarkable triumph of elegance, exceptional structure, and impressive length.
Nachdem das Traubengut entrappt und gequetscht wurde, fand die fünf bis sechs Tage lange Gärung in offenen Fermentern auf der Haut statt, wobei der Tresterhut vier- bis sechsmal täglich untergetaucht wurde, um eine optimale Extraktion von Farbe, Taninn und Geschmacksnuancen im Wein zu erhalten. Nach Abschluss der alkoholischen Gärung ging es in die traditionelle Korbpresse, wo der Wein behutsam abgepresst und in Tanks aus Edelstahl geleitet wurde. Ein Teil des Weins wurde in kleine Eichenfässer gefüllt. Die malolaktische Gärung fand sowohl in Stahl, als auch in Holz statt. Der Wein wurde weder verfeinert noch gefiltert – eine Klärung des Weins fand lediglich durch das Abschöpfen des Weins vom abesetzten Sediment statt. Abschließend reifte der Wein 21 Monate in einer Kombination aus 88 % französischen Barriques und 12 % amerikanischen Eichenholzfässern.
