The Kanonkop Paul Sauer 2022 is presented in a deep ruby garnet and enchants with its fragrant aroma of ripe cherries, blackcurrants, fine cedar wood, tea leaves, and a subtle hint of tomato puree. On the palate, there is a true explosion of fruit with dark berries, rose petals, toasted oak, and delicate plum notes. The complex, multilayered character is complemented by a harmonious structure, balanced acidity, and fine, velvety tannins that culminate in a long finish—pure elegance in the bottle.
After harvest, the grapes underwent fermentation for five days at a controlled temperature of 29°C in open concrete lagares. Following both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 24 months in 100% new French Nevers oak barrels. The 30-year-old vines yield a unique harvest and exceptional character.
