The De Grendel Shiraz 2022 unfolds in a deep ruby hue, accented by violet highlights. Aromas of violets delight the senses, enriched with complex notes of coriander spice, blackcurrant, and hints of holiday cake. On the palate, it reveals a seduction of ripe black plums, velvety tannins, and a flourish of floral and mulberry nuances on the finish. The grapes for this exceptional Shiraz were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in open steel tanks upon arrival at the winery. After primary and malolactic fermentation in tank, the wine matured for 13 months in a combination of 10% new American and 10% new French oak, with 80% in second and third-fill barrels.
