The De Grendel Amandelboord Pinotage 2022 presents a delicate plum hue, exhibiting a vibrant aroma profile characterized by an array of red fruits. Elegantly intertwined scents of ripe cherries and fresh plums, enhanced by subtle hints of cinnamon and cloves, create a captivating bouquet. This youthful yet distinguished Pinotage, with its medium body, delights the palate with a pleasantly dry style and a complex flavor profile that includes red plums, seamlessly integrated oak notes, and smooth, ripe tannins, granting it the potential for further development in the bottle.

Treatment in the cellar The grapes were hand-picked in the early hours of the morning, crushed on arrival at the winery and placed in open fermenters, where the mash was pumped over four times a day. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was pressed in a traditional basket press and transferred to stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation was completed. The wine was then aged for 11 months in a selection of 20% new French barriques and 10% new American oak. The remaining 70% was a combination of second and third-fill French and American oak barrels.
