The David & Nadia Grenache Noir presented in a stately Magnum is a remarkable representation from South Africa's enchanting Swartland region. Exuding aromatic depth with subtle oak nuances, this Grenache Noir reveals a striking blend of freshness and minerality attributed to the granite-rich soils of the vineyards. It captivates with seductive notes of red cherries, raspberries, and pomegranate, enhanced by a juicy and structured tannin framework.
For the final blend, eleven separate harvests from different vineyard blocks were carried out. A slightly reduced share (40%) was fermented and aged in concrete compared to the previous year (50%). The grapes spent a total of four weeks on the skins, including pre-fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation, and an extended skin contact period. Approximately 60% whole grapes were used, with regular punching down and pump-overs during active fermentation to ensure gentle and minimal extraction. After pressing, the wine predominantly matured in used, neutral 500-liter French oak barrels and two 700-liter concrete tanks.
