The David & Nadia Chenin Blanc 2024 showcases the depth and character of Swartland Chenin, sourced from cherished vineyards aged 37 to 56 years. This wine is marked by delightful freshness, impeccable balance, and powerful structure. Aromas of straw elegantly meld with vivid notes of yellow plums, caramelized pears, peach skin, and a subtle waxiness. On the palate, it reveals a well-rounded experience supported by crisp acidity and fine minerality. A solution of meticulous craftsmanship, this vintage embodies the Swartland region’s essence, having been carefully blended from eight vineyards and aged in both concrete and older barrels!
This wine reflects the essence of Swartland, its people, and ancient vineyards. Whole bunches were pressed, naturally fermented, and aged for 11 months in neutral French oak barrels. Two components were fermented and aged in concrete (totaling 9% concrete) – one in a square concrete tank and another in a concrete egg. The wine bears the ‘Certified Heritage Vineyards’ (CHV) seal and is part of the ‘Old Vine Project’ (OVP).
