Vineyard Chamonix

Winemaker and cellar master Gottfried Mocke joined the team on Chamonix in 2001 and with his talent and passion for detail he has brought them to the highest ranks of the wine industry in the Cape. With prizes and awards from the most prestigious institutions, he proves that his concept promises success across the board. His portfolio includes wines such as the pure-bred top wines of the Chamonix range, e.g. the Chamonix Cabernet Franc, the Chamonix Chardonnay and the Chamonix Sauvignon Blanc - all of which have been awarded many stars in the South African Platter Wine Guide.

The Cape Chamonix Wine Farm was once part of the historic "La Cotte" estate, whose history dates back to 1688, as the first farm to be allotted to Huguenot refugees. Today Chamonix is not only known for its picturesque and breathtaking location, but also for its award-winning and highly endowed wines, spirits and pure spring water. Since its acquisition in 1991 by German-born entrepreneur and adventurer Chris Hellinger, now more than 20 years old, the estate has undergone major renovations, alterations and re-equipment to the latest technological standards.

The dynamic team at the Cape Chamonix Wine Farm is dedicated to maintaining the excellent standards and quality for which Chamonix has been world renowned for years.
