Supporting Disadvantaged Children with Second-Hand Donations

We utilize this platform today to highlight our passion: supporting underprivileged children through our association “Lebenslinien e.V.”.

Long-time customers know that together with our partners at Lebenslinien, we are committed to aiding disadvantaged children and youth. Notable projects include supporting the Fast 11, a football club in the Township of Lwandle, distributing over 7,000 Magic Muffins enriched with Moringa and vitamins to undernourished children, and facilitating our cherished project, the “Eagle's Nest.”

At Eagles Nest, a place of hope for 96 children from an impoverished community, is a testament to our work and has been validated by the local authorities.

Recent visitors from our client base have shared their experiences on-site; you can find their reports on our website.

Constructing such facilities presents a significant financial hurdle, as state support only extends to providing land. The ongoing maintenance requires substantial funding; our minimal state support barely covers essential teacher salaries of around €80 monthly. Hence, we rely on financial contributions.

To minimize reliance on funds from Germany, we plan to create additional income sources for our project.

This is why we are soon launching our “Thrift Shop” in the form of a quaint wooden hut designed by a local artist, located next to Eagle's Nest.

For the opening, we seek your donations of clothing—specifically, items no longer worn but in good condition. Warm clothes are especially needed, as winter can be very cold at the Cape. Useful everyday goods are also welcomed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Every sale contributes to covering operational costs and provides the community with high-quality textiles at great prices, which enhances community self-esteem.

Regrettably, due to our 20 kg luggage limit, we cannot accept donations directly from Germany; thus, we specifically target individuals who can support our project on-site. We’ve partnered with the Radisson Red Hotel at the waterfront, where you are welcome to drop off your donations.

Your help, whether financial or in kind, is immensely appreciated.

We proudly maintain that all work within Lebenslinien is voluntary, with administrative costs routinely at a mere 2%. Thus, your donations directly benefit our project and the children.

We warmly invite you to visit our projects; please notify us in advance to arrange an appointment.

Many past visitors—like the German Consul General at the Cape, Frau Werheit—affirm that visiting Eagle's Nest offers one of the most impactful experiences.
