Craft Your Own Sangria with Local Red Wines

Inviting local fruits like blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, and currants are now adorning the bushes. In the kitchen, they are extremely versatile and can be used in recipes from sweet to savory. Drinks can also easily be created from these local superfruits, bringing the ultimate freshness kick to your beverages, whether with or without a splash. Today, we have a special recipe for a homemade Sangria for you!
Elderberry Sangria
Ingredients:
1 organic orange
1 organic lemon
1 nectarine
200 g raspberries
200 g blackberries
200 g strawberries
Juice of 3 oranges
Juice of ½ lemon
125 ml currant juice
125 ml elderberry juice
4 cl cassis liqueur
3-4 tbsp sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
500 ml chilled robust red wine
Currant syrup
Ice cubes
Preparation:
Wash the orange and lemon with hot water, cut them in half lengthwise and then into quarters.
Wash the nectarine, dry it, halve it, remove the stone, and cut the flesh into cubes.
Wash the berries, let them drain, and place them in a large bowl with the orange, lemon, and nectarine pieces.
Pour the orange juice along with lemon, currant, and elderberry juice over the fruits.
Add the cassis liqueur, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
Fill with red wine, stir, and let it infuse in the refrigerator for at least 4 to 5 hours.
Before serving, adjust the taste with currant syrup, add ice cubes, stir well, and chill for an additional 20 minutes.
