The Afrikaans Cabernet Sauvignon Cinsault captivates with its harmonious blend of vibrant black and red currants, enriched with notes of dark chocolate, spices, and a touch of Fynbos. The palate reveals intense flavors of black currant and black cherry, supported by firm, youthful tannins, which are ideally complemented by the juicy red fruit of Cinsault. Lively acidity provides an exciting contrast to the ripeness of the fruit, rounded off by savory notes of black pepper and tobacco leaf.
Afrikaans is a tribute to the rich culture, language, and terroir of South Africa. Crafted with passion and care, the wines reflect the diverse landscapes and traditions shaping the nation. This collection features both a red and a white cuvée, specially created to highlight the unique characteristics of South Africa's indigenous grape varieties. Bottled in limited editions, each wine guarantees exclusivity and a personal touch in every bottle. The Cabernet Sauvignon (83%) originates from Stellenbosch, while the Cinsault (17%) is sourced from the Piekenierskloof. All grapes were fully destemmed, gently crushed, and fermented in open fermentation vessels with the cap pushed down up to four times daily. After maceration, the wine was separated from the skins: the Cinsault aged in 500-liter barrels, while the Cabernet matured in 300-liter used French oak barrels, for 12 months.
