The Vondeling Barrel Selection Merlot 2022 presents itself in the glass with a lively dark ruby color and delights the senses with an alluring bouquet of black cherries, sweet raspberries, and fragrant lavender flowers. The smooth palate is embraced by intense nuances of red berry fruit, licorice, and fine earthiness combined with an exceptionally velvety tannin structure. The finish is mineral, long-lasting, and pleasantly dry.
Das Traubengut wurde entrappt aber nicht gequetscht und fermentierte bei kühlen Temperaturen, um so ein breites Spektrum an spritziger Frucht und Würze ohne schwere Tannine im Wein zu erhalten. Nach der Gärung wurde der Wein in 300 L Fässer aus französischer Eiche umgefüllt. Die malolaktische Fermentierung fand im Fass statt. Der Wein verbrachte eine Gesamtzeit von 18 Monaten in französischer Eiche bevor er verschnitten und zum fertigen Genuss in die Flasche abgefüllt wurde.
