The Villiera Monro Merlot 2022 enchants with an exceptionally intense and aromatic bouquet of ripe berries, alongside hints of dark chocolate, delicate spices, and sweet vanilla. On the palate, layers reminiscent of Black Forest cake unfold, beautifully complemented by a silky texture, fine structure, impressive concentration, and remarkable length. This prestigious Merlot is a true delight!
Monro Merlot is Villiera's ‘Reserve’ red wine, bottled under the historic family name ‘MONRO’. It symbolizes the commitment and heritage that define this exceptional wine.
Das Traubengut wurde bei optimalem Reifegrad handgelesen und bei Ankunft in der Kellerei mit großer Sorgfalt sortiert und für die weitere Produktion Beere für Beere ausgelesen. 70% der Beeren wurden gequetscht, während die restlichen 30% als ganze Beere in die Fermentierung gingen. Während des Gärvorgangs in Edelstahltanks wurde die Maische regelmäßig umgepumpt und der Tresterhut regelmäßig untergetaucht. Nach Abschluss der alkoholischen Gärung ging es in die Presse mit anschließender malolaktischer Fermentierung in französischer Eiche. Der Wein reife 18 Monate lang in französischem Barrique (65% Neuholz) und wurde anschließend auf die Flasche gefüllt.
