The Tokara Reserve Collection Syrah shines with its deep violet color and ruby rim, enchanting with a complex bouquet of ripe blueberries, blackberries, and subtle hints of figs and black pepper. Stunning aromas of cedar wood and licorice blend harmoniously with floral notes of violet, creating an inviting aromatic profile. The palate is luxuriously silky and sophisticated, showcasing robust dark fruit that leads into a pleasantly smooth and slightly chalky finish, accented by a note of pepper. Hailing from Tokara's steepest and most rugged terroir, this Syrah delivers an expression of its origin, producing a remarkably distinctive wine.
The grapes are hand-harvested from a low-yield vineyard. 25% of the berries are added whole to the fermenter, while the remainder is destemmed and crushed. Natural fermentation occurs in upright foudres, followed by ten months of aging on the lees and an additional eleven months in barrique before bottling.
