The Thelema Sutherland Lisa Grenache Noir enchants with its aromas of perfumed roses and succulent raspberries, enriched by delicate nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it is both full-bodied and gracefully elegant, featuring smooth ripe tannins alongside herbal notes of tobacco and hints of strawberry and cherry.
Thelema Mountain Vineyards, established as a distinguished winery in Stellenbosch, has extended its reach into the Cool-Climate region of Elgin with Sutherland Vineyards. Founded by owner and winemaker Gyles Webb, the Sutherland Reserve Collection is crafted from premier vineyard parcels, honoring Gyles's four beloved granddaughters. Named after Lisa Rose Webb, this wine embodies the joy and charm she represents.
A significant portion of the grapes was fermented whole, uncrushed, to retain superior fruit character. During fermentation, the must was pumped over twice daily. To achieve an optimal balance of oak notes and tannins, the wine was aged for 17 months in older oak barrels before bottling.
