The Thelema Sutherland Emily Petit Verdot captivates with an impressive bouquet of white pepper, delicate violets, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine unfolds with seductive notes of roasted tobacco leaves and elegant cigar box, making it a must-have in any collection. Shaped by prime vineyard parcels in the cool Elgin region, this masterpiece is crafted by Gyles Webb and is part of the Sutherland Reserve Collection, dedicated to his beloved granddaughters. Named after Emily Edna Hilton, this wine reflects strength and an untamed character.
The grapes were destemmed, meticulously hand-sorted berry by berry, crushed, and then placed in stainless steel tanks. They underwent daily pump-overs for five days, followed by two days of rest before pressing. After pressing, the wine was transferred to French oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and matured for 18 months prior to bottling.
