The Thelema Chardonnay 2023 showcases a brilliant straw-yellow appearance, embodying the quality of Stellenbosch. This vintage, fermented and aged in French oak barrels, reveals a meticulously balanced Chardonnay profile. The nose is captivated by enticing aromas of lemon zest and subtle white blossoms, which transition to alluring notes of stone fruit and toasted almonds on the palate. With a medium body, refreshing acidity, and a nuanced mineral backbone, this wine culminates in a long, velvety finish accented by gentle oak.
Picked in the early morning, the grapes were destemmed, left on the skins overnight, and then pressed. The clear juice was aged for ten months in French oak barrels (35% new and the rest second and third fill), with bâtonnage performed for several months.
