Information about "Survivor Reserve Pinotage 2023"

The Survivor Reserve Pinotage 2023 enchants with its remarkable deep red color. Aromas of fresh red berries, aromatic cinnamon, and ripe plums arise to the nose, leading to a lavish, generous palate. Hints of vanilla and delicate coconut spices reflect the influence of exceptional oak casks. Full-bodied and structured, this wine unfolds a harmonious array of fragrant roses and sumac spice on the palate, complemented by rich blackberry jam and cinnamon notes. Flavors deepen with juicy black plum, cherries, and blueberries. A fresh, vibrant finish leaves a lasting impression of dark fruits and balanced tannins, characterized by both strength and finesse in a silky package.

Treatment in the cellar The mash was cold-soaked for 48 hours before the addition of yeast. Regular pump-overs occurred every six hours for extraction. The fermentation lasted five days, with temperatures rising to 26°C. At 4° Balling, the skins were pressed, and the gently pressed juice was combined with the free-run. The wine completed fermentation before being transferred to barrels. It underwent malolactic fermentation in 300-liter French oak barrels, 50% new, 30% second fill, and the remainder third fill. It aged for 24 months, with only the 15 best barrels selected for bottling.
