The Survivor Reserve Chenin Blanc 2022 shines with a captivating golden hue and a slight green tint. Aromas of ripe yellow fruits, lemongrass, vibrant citrus, and pineapple intertwine with a nuance of toasted almonds in its complex bouquet. The palate reveals a rich, medium-bodied texture balanced by lively acidity, ensuring the wine's exceptional freshness for years to come. A long, satisfying finish showcases a delightful interplay of flavors, making an indelible mark.
The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness at 23° Balling in the early morning to ensure they arrived cool at the winery. Whole bunch pressing was employed, followed by gentle pressing, and the juice was allowed to settle overnight. 60% of the wine fermented naturally in new 400-liter French oak barrels, while the rest was inoculated with yeast and fermented in second and third-fill 400-liter barrels. The wine matured in barrel for 11 months before blending and bottling.
