The Survivor Cellar Master Cabernet Franc Merlot 2022 accentuates the purity of the Tradouw terroir. This intricate blend features enticing notes of red berries, enhanced by robust hints of cherry, tobacco leaf, and red pepper. The oak is perfectly integrated, enriching the velvety palate while emphasizing its refreshingly juicy essence. Grown on clay-limestone soils with traces of decomposed Bokkeveld shale, these grapes yield wines that exhibit depth, elegance, minerality, and vibrancy. This terroir is noted for producing wines with a lower pH, enhancing their aging potential.
Der Cabernet Franc und der Merlot wurden einer langen Kaltmazeration von vier Tagen unterzogen,danach wurden sie einzeln mit in Bordeaux gezüchteten Hefen beimpft bis der gesamte Zucker vergoren war. Die Weinewurden dann 10 Tage lang auf den Schalen mazeriert, bevor sie gepresst wurden und die malolaktische Gärung in 300-Liter-Fässern abgeschlossen wurde. Die Weine wurden 22 Monate lang in 60 % neuen, 20 % zweit- und 20 % drittbefüllten Fässern gereift, bevor sie in Flaschen abgefüllt wurden.
