The Strandveld First Sighting Sauvignon Blanc 2024 offers an intriguing aromatic profile with intense notes of black currant, complemented by hints of Cape gooseberry and passion fruit. On the palate, this array of flavors unfolds in perfect harmony with elegant minerality and subtle herbal undertones from the South African Buchu plant. A touch of Semillon (10%) adds further complexity.
The grapes are sourced from the southernmost wine region of South Africa, where Bartholomeu Dias first glimpsed the African continent in 1488. In the windy climate of Cape Agulhas, the grapes ripen slowly yet intensely, resulting in an impressive flavor experience.
Das Traubengut wurde bei optimalem Reifegrad in den frühen Morgenstunden handgelesen und frisch bei kühlgeregelten Temperaturen in Tanks aus Edelstahl vinifiziert. Nach Abschluss der Gärung verbrachte der Wein noch sechs Monate auf der Hefe, um ein üppigeres und fülligeres Mundgefühl im Wein zu erhalten.
