Displaying a rich plum color, the Stellenview Kruger Family Reserve Shiraz 2021 delivers an engaging aroma of ripe fruits, featuring lush notes of plum and blackberry compote intertwined with black pepper, clove, and licorice. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, elegantly enveloping the rich fruit in subtle oak nuances. A long, lingering finish reveals tempting dark fruit and spice impressions, epitomizing balance and sophisticated elegance.
The grapes were hand-picked during the early morning hours and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, depending on the vineyard site. Each tank underwent a cold maceration phase lasting two to three days before being inoculated with selected yeast cultures. After fermentation, malolactic fermentation occurred in the tank, followed by 16 to 18 months of aging in small French oak barrels, showcasing remarkable aging potential of eight to 10 years, allowing it to develop wonderfully over time.
