With its creation rooted in a respectful homage to the richness of the ocean, Springfield Miss Lucy offers pronounced citrus fragrances, especially lively grapefruit, paired with an opulent mouthfeel that defies its bone-dry nature! Ideal for summer, it blooms fully when enjoyed alongside a gentle coastal breeze and bright sunshine.
The moniker 'Miss Lucy' corresponds to one of several terms used by fishermen along the Southern Cape coast of South Africa for the 'Red Stumpnose' fish. Tragically, like many marine species, 'Miss Lucy' is under threat from overfishing.
The grapes for this summer-light blend were harvested at night. The alcoholic fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over 21 days, followed by 100 days on the lees. This blend consists of 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Semillon, 26% Pinot Gris, and 18% Sauvignon Gris.
