The Sijnn White 2024 represents an exceptional expression of the terroir in Malgas, alongside the Breede River, South Africa's sole First-Growth Appellation. Its bright, glimmering lemon color allures the senses. The nose bursts with vibrant freshness, showcasing inviting lemon zest aromas entwined with warm, sunbaked vineyard stones. Hints of spice, apricot bitterness, and a subtle salty nuttiness enrich its complexity. On the palate, it is lively and zesty, delivering a harmonious blend of rich fruit and uplifting acidity. The structure is elegantly layered, culminating in a beautifully long finish. Its remarkable complexity will evolve over time, while retaining its mineral essence.
Handpicked in the early morning, grapes are expertly sorted to ensure only the coolest fruit reaches the cellar. 60% are pressed whole in a basket press, while the remainder are gently crushed and then pressed. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels (400- and 700-liters), 10% new wood, lasting 10 months on the lees, imparting texture and balance. Lightly fined, unfiltered, and bottled by hand.
