Rust en Vrede Estate 2021 embodies the essence of South Africa's wine heritage with its striking deep garnet color. Aromas of luscious mulberries interlace with cassis, cedar, and subtle notes of tobacco, offering a complex bouquet. The robust Cabernet Sauvignon lends strength to the blend, while vibrant red and black cherries dance with hints of black pepper, highlighting the Syrah's character. The palate is lush with Merlot fruit, accented by mocha, fruitcake, and leather, creating a tapestry of flavors. A refreshing acidity balances the wine’s rich, enveloping tannins, culminating in a clean, satisfying finish.
Nach der Ernte wurde das Traubengut sortiert und die Rebsorten separat vinifiziert. Maischegärung erfolgte für 21 Tage wonach malolaktische Gärung in Eichenfässern. 70% des Weins reifte nach Abschluss der Gärung 22 Monate lang in 300-Liter Fässern aus französischer Eiche, wovon 40% Neuholz aus machte; 40% reifte in zweitfüllung; 20% drittfüllung; 30% in 500 Liter Fässern.
