The Robertson Winery Constitution Road Chardonnay 2023 intrigues with a sublime bouquet of intricately woven aromas of fresh citrus, luscious buttered toast, orange preserve, and enticing vanilla. On the palate, a zesty acidity harmonizes splendidly with the sumptuous creaminess, unfolding flavor layers of intricate citrus, pear, and buttery toffee that lead into a seamless, prolonged finish.
The handpicked grapes were gently crushed and pressed with utmost care. During pressing, the juice was carefully separated into free-flowing and pressed juice. Only the free-run juice was used for further production, left to rest for 12 hours before racking from the lees into new and second-fill French oak barrels. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were completed in the barrel. The wine matured on its primary lees, with regular bâtonnage for the first two months, then monthly thereafter.
