The Restless River Ava Marie Chardonnay 2022 embodies the essence of the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, offering an alluring fragrance of oatmeal, flint, and lemongrass. The palate reveals a nuanced interplay of baking spices, beeswax, and citrus zest, complemented by a velvety mouthfeel from extended aging on the lees. This exceptional Chardonnay is celebrated for its harmonious blend of freshness and depth, perfect for the sophisticated palate.
Die Trauben wurden von Hand geerntet und als ganze Trauben gepresst. Die Gärung erfolgte mit einheimischer Hefe unter Verwendung von 90 % französischer Eiche (10 % neu) und 10 % unbeschichteten toskanischen Terrakotta-Amphoren, wodurch sich das Terroir auf natürliche Weise entfalten konnte. Nach 12 Monaten im Fass reifte der Wein weiter in der Flasche und entwickelte zusätzliche Komplexität.
