The third vintage of the Rall Concrete Syrah brings together grapes cultivated in the exceptional slate soils of Swartland. Early harvested and fermented entirely with whole bunches, this Syrah matures in concrete eggs to preserve its fresh fruit and crisp tannins. With an alcohol content of just 12.5%, the wine delights with a lovely structure reminiscent of savory olive tapenade and dark blackberries. Its aromatic bouquet combines earthy undertones with a touch of star anise. As winemaker Donovan Rall notes, it took him 17 years to achieve the Syrah quality he has worked towards!
The grapes for this highly acclaimed Swartland Syrah are harvested early, pressed whole bunch, and matured 100% in concrete eggs, ensuring the preservation of its fruit and the crisp tannin structure from the distinctive slate soils.
