The Raka Biography Shiraz presents itself with a deep violet-red color and an incredibly enticing bouquet of herbs and spices, with deliciously juicy notes of red cherries and blue fruits. This aromatic complexity continues on the sleek and full-bodied palate, enhanced by flavors of smoked meat, leather, and chocolate-mocha nuances. A wine of great structure, it boasts a full body with a well-regulated harmony between tannins and acidity. The finish is strikingly elegant, smoky, and lingering, leaving a warm and delightful aftertaste of red plum.
The fruit was meticulously sorted twice before yeast cultures were added to the mash. The juice underwent pumping over three to five times daily for five days and was then transferred to a resting tank post-primary fermentation. Malolactic fermentation occurred in both French and American oak, with the wine aging for 12 months in French barriques (25% new wood).
