The Protea Shiraz captivates with enticing aromas of ripe plums, blackberries, and delicate pepper notes, enhanced by a touch of violets. This complex bouquet carries over to the palate, where flavors of dark fruits, raspberries, and dried herbs converge beautifully. Its pleasing drinkability is marked by a soft texture and medium body, making it a delightful companion for various occasions.
The grapes were hand-harvested, destemmed, and crushed before being placed in 10,000-liter stainless steel tanks with oak staves. Fermentation lasted 15 days at 26°C on the skins. The free-run and press fractions matured separately and were blended after eight months.
