The Porseleinberg Syrah 2023 exemplifies the unique terroir of Swartland, delivering an impressive depth and complexity. This acclaimed wine seduces with its enticing bouquet of incense, thyme, and black pepper, seamless integrated with vivid notes of blackberry, red fruits, and a whisper of licorice. It features robust tannins and a mineral core, establishing it as a world-class wine. Since its debut in 2010, the Porseleinberg Syrah has become one of the most exciting wines from this region.
The hand-harvested grapes were whole-cluster fermented in concrete tanks, where they were traditionally stomped and fermented naturally. Throughout fermentation, the cap was submerged twice daily. After fermentation, the wine aged for 12 months, with 70% in barrels and 30% in concrete eggs, before being bottled.
