In the glass, the Pilgrim Chenin Blanc 2023 reveals a radiant golden hue with green highlights. Aromatically, it is rich and vibrant, showcasing ripe stone fruits, white pear, and yellow peach, intertwined with the characteristic minerality of Swartland. Hints of fynbos, almonds, and nuanced citrus fruits add further complexity. The palate is broad and structured, maintaining an incredible freshness that promises longevity. This luxurious wine concludes with an extended, enjoyable finish, and is produced from exquisite 35-year-old vines nestled in the clay and sandstone soils of the Voor Paardeberg region.
Die Trauben wurden in drei separaten Partien vinifiziert und in französischen Eichenholzfässern ( 225L, 300L, 500L ) vergoren und gereift. Die Reifung dauerte neun Monate nachedem der Wein abgefüllt wurde und dann weitere neun Monate in der Flasche, vor der Freigabe, gelagert wurde. Diese längere Lagerungen sorgen für eine vollendete Geschmacksentwicklung.
