The Mullineux Kloof Street Swartland Rouge captivates with its appealing blend reminiscent of the Southern Rhône. It releases seductive aromas of rose petals, violets, and dark berry fruits, complemented by a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it presents a medium body with approachable tannins and a refreshingly vibrant finish. Comprising 57% Syrah alongside Grenache Noir, Tinta Barocca, and Cinsault, this wine is perfect for current enjoyment while also showcasing aging potential. Each varietal enhances the wine's depth – Cinsault contributes the bouquet, Tinta Barocca offers structure, Grenache infuses fruity character, and Syrah beautifully ties everything together.
The grapes were hand-harvested, chilled upon arrival at the winery, destemmed, and crushed. Spontaneous fermentation began after approximately four days, lasting four to six weeks at maximum temperatures of 28°C. After fermentation, the wine aged for 11 months in French oak, then rested for an additional 12 months in stainless steel before bottling.
