The Miles Mossop Max, named after winemaker Miles Mossop's son, shines with a deep garnet color and a bright plum hue. Its bouquet captivates with ripe blackberries, dried herbs, aromatic cedar, and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, Max is full-bodied, rich, and complex, showcasing intense flavors of red currants and blueberries that lead into a well-textured mid-palate, enriched by nuances of fine vanilla and herbs, culminating in a long-lasting, pleasantly dry finish.
Die Trauben, hauptsächlich aus Stellenbosch, wurden per Hand sortiert und fermentierten bis zu 14 Tage lang spontan in offenen Fässern. Nach Abschluss der malolaktischen Gärung reifte der Wein 22 Monate lang in kleinen 225 Liter Fässern aus französischer Eiche, von denen 37% Neuholz ausmachten.
