Deep purple in colour, the Lemberg Nelson Syrah exudes seductive aromas of ripe blackberries, mixed herbs and a hint of spicy liquorice. The firm yet incredibly elegant tannins on the palate complement the delicious flavours of dark berry fruit. An elegant wine with beautiful weight and a long-lasting, dry finish.
Treatment in the cellar
The grapes were picked early in the morning to preserve the cooler night-time temperatures.
The grapes were then destemmed, sorted by hand and
cold macerated for three days before inoculation. During
fermentation, a combination of punching down and pumping over was used
to extract colour and tannins. The wine was aged
for 15 months in a combination of new and older French oak barrels.
